9 Weeks Of Travel Travel

Brisbane – 36 Hours ish…

Hello and welcome back to the blog, and the 1st of many Legs of this trip and of this series of blogs!

So Friday 27th, We said goodbye to the house and then headed to say goodbye and have a few drinks with Matts work colleagues and then it was in the filled to the brim car and on the road to Brisbane.

We got into Brisbane and headed straight to our Airbnb, Once we’re settled in we decided to head out and explore. It was good as this is a part of Brisbane that we had not really visited prior. Firstly we headed to a local Brewery to get some Beer, that’s always a great place to start, right? It had a great atmosphere and an equally delicious beer.

The Next stop was dinner, We headed to Ms Browns as suggested by my Friend Jayme back on the coast and WOW! it was such a great place, We struggled to get a table but we got one! I cocktails Delicious, and so was the atmosphere. We ordered way too much food but hey it was day one of the holiday. Pizza from across the road was awesome, with some lamb, cauliflower and potatoes added in as you doo. It was a great night.

We ended the day with a little walk to the river that was just over the road from where were staying.

The Next day was our only full day in Brisbane so we wanted to make the most of it. First stop was Daddy’s Bread for some delicious pastries, once we had them we headed to the ferry terminal and went for a long ride along the river into the city. Once getting there if you know me a coffee stop was required and it was pretty damn good coffee.

Once fueled it was time to get a bit artsy, firstly we headed to the gallery of modern art. We got here pretty much as it opened and spent about an hour walking around looking at all the art it was pretty interesting and quite cultural experience which is always nice. Next, we did try to find the normal art gallery, but each sign we saw pointed in the opposite direction to the last so we gave up and headed to the museum. In here we only lasted 15 minutes or so as it was alive with children and not very enjoyable but it was a Saturday and kind of expected.

The next part of the day involved food and drink, first, we went to Chu The Phat for lunch, opting for the lunch banquet was not the best choice but still the food was nice. But going to Messina made up for it. Next, we walked to the valley and up to Elixir rooftop bar for some tasty cocktails. After this, we decided to head and walk along the river back to the apartment. It was probably just under a 2-hour walk but as it’s us we did stop half way at a bowls club and have a beer. We then continued the walk and back to the apartment.

After a rest we went back out and off to dinner, We went to a cute place in fortitude valley for burgers but we were both quite shattered so got an uber home after food a pretty much went straight to sleep.

The Final morning in Brisbane, we decided that we would get up to see the sunrise from the Mount Coot-tha lookout and it was worth it so much. The sun broke the misty sky and it was pretty special to see.

Finally, we headed for food and then back to the apartment to pack our bags and head to the airport ready for our flight to the Whitsundays.
